Update log

A dated record of regulator guidance changes reflected on this site and of factual corrections, newest first.

How to read this update log

This log records changes to facts on Healthcare Practise UK: new regulator guidance we have reflected, CPD or revalidation rule changes, and corrections. Each entry gives the month, the pages affected and what changed. Typo fixes and wording changes that do not alter meaning are not logged. The rules behind the log are set out in our editorial policy.

Regulator facts are summarised on the regulator pages and built into the CPD and revalidation tracker. If you rely on a number for a deadline, open the regulator's own page from the sources list as well.

Recent regulator guidance changes reflected at launch

  • HCPTS, 7 August 2025: the practice note on fitness to practise impairment dated 7 August 2025 is the version referred to on our HCPC pages.
  • Social Work England, 23 April 2026: our pages refer to the impairment and sanctions guidance as last updated on 23 April 2026.
  • GOC, 20 July 2026: updated Hearings and Indicative Sanctions Guidance applies to hearings from 20 July 2026; our GOC pages refer to it.
  • GOC CPD cycle 2025 to 2027: the tracker uses the current cycle dates and the 36-point minimum.
  • GPhC, 1 January 2026: for revalidation submissions on or after 1 January 2026, pharmacy professionals can reflect against any of the nine standards for pharmacy professionals, as long as they reflect against one or more (in 2025 the set standards were 1, 2 and 5).
  • NMC, 25 March 2026: FTP-16b (has the concern been addressed?) was last updated on 25 March 2026; our pages reflect its wording on the relevance of training. Revalidation still requires five pieces of practice-related feedback.
  • GCC, 1 January 2026: the Code of Professional Practice took effect on 1 January 2026 and replaced the Code (2016).

Items under review

These points could not be fully confirmed on an official page during the October 2026 check. Until they are, our pages either avoid the detail or mark it for review:

  • GMC/MPTS: the Guidance for MPTS tribunals has replaced the earlier sanctions guidance since 24 November 2025. We could not confirm its paragraph structure, so our pages describe its approach in general terms, quote no paragraph numbers and link to the current version.
  • GDC: the exact title of the decision-making guidance for the Practice Committees in force from 6 January 2026, and the outcome of the GDC's March 2026 consultation on fitness to practise guidance.
  • GCC: the 2018 Guidance on Sanctions is still described as current. The GCC consulted on revised guidance from 29 June to 16 August 2026 and plans to publish its response in October 2026; we will update our pages when new guidance is confirmed in force. We also re-check the GCC CPD-year dates.

When each item is confirmed, we will add a dated entry above with the pages that changed. You can see how we decide what goes live on the about page.

Corrections

No factual corrections have been logged since launch. If you spot an error, email support@healthcarepractise.com with the page address and the source that shows the correct position, and the fix will be logged here with its date.

Frequently asked questions

What gets recorded in the update log?

Changes to facts: new regulator guidance, CPD or revalidation rule changes, and corrections. Minor wording and typo fixes that do not change meaning are not logged.

How quickly do you reflect a regulator change?

We review affected pages when a regulator publishes a change and in our quarterly review. Always check the regulator's own page for any deadline you depend on.

Why are some items marked as under review?

Because we could not confirm them on an official regulator page. We would rather say a point is being checked than state something that may be out of date.

Does the CPD tracker update automatically when rules change?

The tracker rules are updated by our team after each confirmed change, and the change is logged here with its date.

How do I report something that has changed?

Email support@healthcarepractise.com with the page address and a link to the regulator source. We check it and log any factual correction.
