Course bundles for healthcare professionals, built around a purpose

These course bundles for healthcare professionals group our courses into 22 ready-made packs. Each pack has one job: to address a specific fitness to practise concern, to prepare you for a new role or setting, or to give a team a shared baseline. Every pack comes with a short explanation of why each course is in it, so you can explain your choices to an adviser, appraiser, manager or decision maker instead of presenting a pile of unrelated certificates.

The packs fall into three groups. There are 11 remediation packs, one for each common type of concern, from probity and clinical care to behaviour and discrimination. There are 7 packs for your role, for international doctors and nurses, people returning to practice, aesthetics practitioners, clinical leaders, and anyone who wants routine CPD for appraisal and revalidation. And there are 4 packs for teams and organisations, covering induction, safeguarding, care homes and practice management.

Buying a complete pack saves 25% on the courses in it and adds the Reflective Practice Workbook for 12 months. If you are not sure where to start, the course finder will point you to a starting set, and the full course catalogue lets you build your own basket.

Remediation packs: 11 bundles matched to the concern

Each remediation pack combines the topic courses that deal directly with one type of concern with the insight, reflection and remediation modules that turn learning into evidence. The last column links to our free guide for that concern, which explains what regulators look for and which tools help.

The three newer packs cover concerns that sit across several of the original eight: sexual safety, behaviour towards colleagues and patients, and discrimination. Their guide is our page on conduct and behaviour training. For probity and conduct concerns, consider adding the ethics course written for your own regulator; it is not in the pack by default because it differs by profession.

Packs for your role

These packs are for planned learning rather than a concern: a move into UK practice, a return after a break, a specialist setting, a leadership role, or the steady CPD that appraisal and revalidation ask for.

Packs for teams and organisations

These packs give a group of staff the same core awareness topics. They support your induction and training plans; they do not replace your employer's own mandatory training requirements or the safeguarding level a role requires.

How role and team packs are used in practice

Role and team packs answer a different question from the remediation packs. Instead of "what does this concern call for?", they ask "what does someone in this position need to know first?" A few examples of how they are used:

  • Induction. The New Starter Induction Pack covers safeguarding adults and children, information governance, infection prevention, person-centred care and conflict resolution, the topics most employers want covered in the first weeks. Pair it with your own local induction on policies, systems and people.
  • International starters. The International Doctor and International Nurse Starter Packs explain how UK practice and the professional regulator work, what patients expect in a consultation, the law on consent, capacity and confidentiality, and how to start an appraisal and revalidation portfolio from day one rather than in a rush before the deadline.
  • Return to practice. The Return to Practice Pack refreshes standards and law, and covers medicines safety, deterioration and sepsis, and record keeping, the areas where practice and guidance change most during a break.
  • Care homes. The Care Home Essentials Pack covers the everyday topics care teams work on most, from nutrition, hydration and falls to dementia and reasonable adjustments for people with a learning disability or autism.
  • Practice managers. The Practice Manager and CQC Pack covers inspection readiness against the fundamental standards, complaints handling, safe recruitment checks, UK GDPR and a just and learning culture after incidents.
  • Leaders. The Clinical Leaders Pack covers leadership, supervision and mentoring, delegation and accountability, and building a team where people feel safe to speak up.

Using packs with team course credits

Organisations do not have to buy packs one person at a time. With course credits for teams, one credit covers one course for one staff member, and a manager assigns courses and tracks completion from a dashboard in the student portal. A pack works well as a ready-made list: assign the courses in the Care Home Essentials or New Starter Induction Pack to each new member of staff, then add profession-specific ethics courses for registered staff. The dashboard records completion dates and certificates, which you can export into your own training matrix.

How each pack is put together

We built the packs from the course outlines, not from a sales list. Each one follows the same logic.

  1. Topic courses that match the purpose. Two to five courses that deal directly with the knowledge, skills or behaviour the concern or role is about. In the Probity Remediation Pack, for example, the Probity course covers honest records, finances, research and declarations, Financial Integrity covers claims, timesheets, gifts and conflicts of interest, and the Documentation course covers honest record keeping, including non-clinical forms.
  2. A course on the wider context. Where it helps, a course on the setting: Teamwork and Collaboration for clinical concerns (handover, SBAR and speaking up), Rebuilding Trust for probity and conduct concerns, or UK Healthcare Law Essentials for international and returning professionals.
  3. Evidence-building modules. In the remediation packs, the insight, reflection and remediation modules turn topic learning into the kind of evidence regulators describe. In the role packs, the portfolio course and the Reflection module help you record learning for appraisal and revalidation.

Team packs are simpler: they group the awareness topics a setting needs, with no remediation modules, because their purpose is shared knowledge rather than evidence about one person's practice.

Why insight, reflection and remediation appear in the remediation packs

Regulators use slightly different words, but they ask the same questions when a concern is raised. Do you understand what went wrong and why it mattered? What have you done to address it? Is it unlikely to happen again?

The NMC, for example, describes evidence of insight as usually central to deciding whether a nurse's or midwife's practice is currently impaired, and its guidance on whether a concern has been addressed looks at how relevant any training is and how it has been applied. The HCPTS practice note on impairment treats insight as concerned with the future risk of repetition. Social Work England says remediation is best shown by objective evidence, such as completed training, appraisals and feedback from practice.

The three modules address those questions directly:

  • The Insight module helps you understand and explain what went wrong, its impact, and what you would do differently, and ends with an insight action plan.
  • The Reflection module teaches structured reflective writing and asks you to produce a written reflective account.
  • The Remediation module covers root-cause analysis, building a remediation plan, and evidencing and sustaining change.
Insight, remediation and reflection
  1. InsightUnderstanding what went wrong, why, and its effect on others and on trust.
  2. RemediationPractical steps that address the concern, such as targeted learning and supervised practice.
  3. ReflectionShowing what you learned and how your practice has changed.

When a concern fits more than one pack

Real concerns rarely fall neatly into one category. A few common overlaps, and how to handle them:

  • Altered or inaccurate records. If the concern is about poor or late notes, the Records Pack fits. If there is any suggestion that records were changed or written dishonestly, the Probity Remediation Pack is usually the better starting point, because honesty is the core issue.
  • Online contact with a patient. The Boundaries Pack already includes the Social Media course. If the concern is mainly about sharing information online, look at the Confidentiality and Social Media Pack instead.
  • A medication error. The Safe Prescribing Pack covers prescribing, and it includes Clinical Competence for wider medication safety. If the error was in administration rather than prescribing, the Clinical Concerns Pack may fit better.
  • A complaint about attitude or behaviour. The Communication and Candour Pack suits concerns about how someone was spoken to or treated. The Behaviour and Conduct Remediation Pack suits anger, rudeness or bullying, and the Conduct and Trust Pack suits wider concerns about public confidence.
  • Intimate examinations. The Boundaries Pack covers chaperones and consent. If the concern involves sexual behaviour or harassment, the Sexual Safety and Boundaries Remediation Pack is the closer match.

Where two packs overlap, you do not need to buy a course twice. Choose the pack that best matches the main concern, then add the one or two extra courses that cover the rest. Your adviser may have a view on which concern a regulator is focusing on.

Adapting a pack to your situation

A pack is a recommended starting set, not a fixed prescription. You can:

  • leave out any course you have already completed, here or elsewhere, and keep your existing certificate;
  • add the ethics or professionalism course written for your regulator;
  • add a single course that covers a secondary part of the concern;
  • spread the courses out, completing one or two at a time and reflecting on each before moving on.

Taking courses in a thoughtful order is often more useful than taking them all at once. Many people start with the topic courses, then complete the Insight module, and finish with the Reflection module so that their written account draws on everything they have learned. The free remediation pathway builds this order in, and adds a readiness check, a reflection builder and a timeline.

Getting the most from the courses in a pack

The courses are written so that the learning can be used, not just completed. A few habits make a real difference to how useful the result is:

  • Keep notes as you go. Each course has reflection points in the body. Jot down your answers; they become the raw material for your written reflection.
  • Connect each course to the concern. For every course, write one or two sentences on why you chose it and which part of the concern it addresses. This is the explanation an adviser or decision maker will want.
  • Show the learning in practice. Where you are still working, look for ways to apply what you have learned and record them: a changed checklist, an audit of your notes, a discussion with your supervisor, or feedback from colleagues.
  • Date everything. Certificates, reflections and notes of changes to practice are more persuasive when they show a clear sequence over time.
  • Keep your reflections honest and anonymous. Write in your own words and leave out anything that could identify a patient, service user or colleague.

The written reflective account at the end of each course is the place to bring this together. Short, specific and honest reflections usually say more than long general ones.

What a pack can and cannot show

Completing a remediation pack shows that you have chosen relevant learning and worked through it, with a scored assessment and a written reflection for each course. That is useful evidence, but it is only part of what regulators consider. They also look at how you have applied the learning in practice, at feedback and testimonials, at the seriousness of the concern and, for some concerns such as dishonesty, at whether it can be remediated at all.

So please treat a pack as one part of a wider plan that may include supervision, audit, mentoring and a period of safe practice. Talk to your defence organisation, union or solicitor about what your evidence should include before you submit anything. Role and team packs are general learning; they do not confirm that someone is competent in a particular role, and employers remain responsible for their own training and competence checks.

Healthcare Practise UK is an independent education provider. We are not affiliated with, approved or endorsed by the GMC, NMC, HCPC, GDC, GPhC, GOC, GOsC, GCC, Social Work England, MPTS or the PSA. Completing our courses or tools does not guarantee any regulatory outcome. Regulators decide each case on its own facts. Please take advice from your defence organisation, union or a solicitor before submitting anything to a regulator.

Buying a pack and what you save

The theme shows every pack in a box with its live price and a "Buy the pack" button that adds every course in it to your basket on our course portal. You can remove any course before paying, for example one you have already completed. Payment is in pounds sterling, and each course can then be taken at your own pace. You receive a separate certificate of completion, in the name of Healthcare Practise UK, for each course you pass.

Savings

  • Complete packs: when you buy all the courses in a pack, you save 25% on those courses, and the pack includes the Reflective Practice Workbook for 12 months. This applies to all 22 packs.
  • Mixed baskets: if you choose your own courses, you save 10% from 3 courses, 15% from 5 courses and 20% from 10 courses.
  • Organisations: teams can buy course credits instead, with the price per credit falling as the order grows. See training for organisations.

The best single saving for your basket applies; savings do not stack. The prices in each pack box and in your basket are read live from our course portal.

If you have a question about which pack to choose, or need help with an order, email support@healthcarepractise.com or use our contact page.

Frequently asked questions

Which pack should I choose?

If a concern has been raised, choose the remediation pack that matches the main concern; the guide linked in the table explains each one. If you are starting a new role, returning to practice or planning CPD, choose the role pack that fits. Managers should start with the team packs. The course finder can help if you are unsure.

Can I remove courses from a pack?

Yes. The pack button adds all its courses to your basket, and you can remove any you do not need before paying. If you remove courses, the basket is priced as a mixed basket rather than a complete pack, and the best saving that applies is used.

How much do I save by buying a pack?

A complete pack saves 25% on the courses in it and includes the Reflective Practice Workbook for 12 months. If you build your own basket instead, you save 10% from 3 courses, 15% from 5 and 20% from 10. The best single saving applies; they do not stack.

Are there packs for CPD rather than remediation?

Yes. The seven role packs are built for planned learning: the Revalidation Ready Pack for routine CPD with written reflections, starter packs for international doctors and nurses, a Return to Practice Pack, an Aesthetics Practitioner Pack, a Patient Safety Pack and a Clinical Leaders Pack. You can record the certificates and reflections in your appraisal or revalidation portfolio.

Can my organisation use the packs for a whole team?

Yes. You can buy a pack for each person, or buy course credits and assign the courses in a pack to each staff member from the manager dashboard, which records completion dates and certificates.

Do I get one certificate for the whole pack?

No. You receive a separate certificate of completion for each course you pass, which makes it easier to show exactly what you covered and when.

Will completing a remediation pack resolve my case?

No course or pack decides a case. Regulators weigh insight, reflection, changes to practice and the risk of repetition as a whole. A relevant pack, properly reflected on, can be part of that evidence. The remediation pathway helps you build the rest.

Not sure where to start?

Tell us your regulator and the concern. The pathway shows the courses that fit, helps you write your reflection and puts your evidence in order. It is free and nothing leaves your browser.
